City Transit Platform

A public transit schedule platform for a European capital — commuter rail plus the full city bus, tram, and trolleybus network in one place, with live next-departure countdowns and real-time service notices instead of scrolling through static timetables.

The problem

Official timetables were scattered across a commuter-rail operator and a separate city transit authority, published as static schedules rather than anything a rider could glance at on the way out the door.

The approach

Built an automated pipeline that keeps the full network in sync — hundreds of routes and thousands of stops — reconciled nightly against a trip-time baseline so real durations stay accurate, paired with a fast, mobile-first countdown UI.

The result

A live, trilingual schedule site covering an entire city’s public transit network, with delay and service-notice feeds that refresh automatically — no manual timetable updates once it shipped.

Outcome

Live in production, covering hundreds of routes and thousands of stops across an entire city’s transit network.
